Health and social care grants and Small grants

July 2007

The money available for Health and social care grants and Small grants for 2007/08 has now been allocated. Regrettably, no more grants can be made until the next financial year, starting in April 2008.

Health and social care grants and Small grants are available to fund, or part fund one of the following:

  1. a service or activity that aims to meet one or more of the following priorities:
    • promoting healthy ageing or falls prevention
    • supporting independent living or social inclusion
  2. the purchase of ICT equipment or training or both to enable information giving using the Waltham Forest older people’s collaborative website (www.wfolderpeople.com) and other websites. Training will be provided by the Silver surfers learning centre and funding for broadband links for up to three years may be included in the application.

Grants will normally be up to a maximum of £2,500 for Health and social care grants and up go £750 for Small grants.

Please note that monies towards the cost of trips are not available from these grant schemes.

To apply, you have to be a member of the Waltham Forest Older people’s voluntary sector partnership and your annual income must be £35,000 or less.

Applications for Health and social care grants must be received by 16 March 2007; there is no deadline for Small grant applications.
