Get knitting for Age Concern!

some of the little hats made by residents last yearEvery winter we raise money for local older people by knitting lots of little woolly hats. These hats are sent to innocent - best known for their smoothies - who put them on their smoothie bottles and, for each behatted bottle sold, donate 50p to Age Concern. Half the donation comes from innocent and half from EAT and Sainsbury's. Last year, with the help of keen innocent knitters throughout the borough, we managed to knit 1000 hats - a target we're hoping to equal this year.

The pattern for the little hats and instructions for what to do with the hats you knit is available as a pdf file for you to download and print.

More information about the 'Big knit' is available on the innocent website and from Age Concern (go to http://www.ageconcern.org.uk and search for 'big knit').

If you have any questions about the 'Big knit', please contact Jean Williams, Leader of our Healthy ageing programme - Jean's contact details are available on the Contact us page of this site.
