Free computers from Age Concern

All residents of Waltham Forest who are over 50 are eligible for a free personal computer - thanks to a scheme involving Age Concern, computer recycling company, Maxitech, and the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone.

To register for a free computer, call 020 7820 6785 between 10:30am and 1.30pm on Monday or Wednesday and state that you will be able collect a computer on the Age Concern Waltham Forest collection day of 12 January 2008.

Computers can be collected on the 12th between 1.00 and 3.00pm from the Town Hall car park in Walthamstow. Age Concern Waltham Forest will enable housebound older people to access the scheme through our Link-up project and voluntary groups working with older people through the Waltham Forest Older people’s voluntary sector partnership.

Age Concern Waltham Forest is also working in partnership with zuuMedia to offer older adults access to zuuMedia’s IT support and security subscription service for two months at a discounted rate of £1.99 a month. After the two month trial period, users can continue their subscription and get 20% off the normal price. In addition, zuuMedia will donate 10% of the subscription price to Age Concern.
