Service Name: Link-Up – Telephone Conferencing Group

 

Brief description of service:

Providing an opportunity for isolated older adults to participate in a weekly telephone group with lively discussion and reminiscence.  At the end of the eight week period, a coffee morning is organized encouraging people to keep in touch with each other

Case Study

These clients have been referred for volunteer visitors, but are on the waiting list for available volunteers, in the meantime we offer for them the chance to participate in a telephone group, chatting weekly for eights weeks in lively discussion, ending in a organised coffee morning, where they all meet up and often continue their friendship.
