Message in a bottle

Message in a bottle is a simple idea designed to encourage people living on their own to keep basic personal and medical details on a standard form and in a common location where they can be easily found by the emergency services.

The bottle containing relevant personal and medical information is kept in the fridge (which also helps protect the bottle in a fire) and the emergency services will know to look for this as a sticker is placed inside the front door or the main door used for the home and another on the fridge door.

There is no cost for a Message in a bottle as all these costs of running the scheme are borne by Age Concern Waltham Forest and the local Lions club.

The Message in a bottle scheme is run as part of our Healthy ageing programme.

If you would like to setup your own Message in a bottle, please contact our Healthy ageing programme. Details of how to do this are available on the Contact us page of our website.
