Family support
The Family support service provides assistance to older adults living in the Waltham Forest area and their carers in making a choice of residential nursing or residential care home. We provide support, information and advice to both Social Services funded and self-funding older adults and arrange escorted visits to view the homes of their choice. We also escort clients between homes and facilitate visits, perhaps where partners are separated.
The service currently accepts formal referrals from the Whipps Cross University NHS Trust Hospital Social Workers and their Discharge Team, as well as the Waltham Forest Primary Care Trust Ainslie Rehabilitation Unit and Waltham Forest Social Services First Response teams, but we are also happy to accept self referrals on an informal basis.
