Charity Number: 1048212

Service Name: Balance and Exercise Classes

Brief description of service:

One significant problem of old age is loss of independence. Reducing the risk of falls, exercising regularly and attaining a reasonable degree of physical fitness would help an older person meet the demands of their daily routine.

In order to encourage older people to take part in exercise programmes, Age Concern Waltham Forest, in partnership with the Waltham Forest Primary Care Trust has funded up a number of classes throughout the Borough.

The classes, which include Tai Chi and gentle exercise to music, are aimed at all older adults, including those with limited mobility.  They can be carried out either standing or seated.  We aim to make the classes informal and enjoyable.

These classes are free to any older adult or group who wishes to take part.

Arrangements will then be made for you to join a class as near as possible to your home.

Times available/open:

Various venues throughout the borough.
