We have been helping older people in Waltham Forest since 1982 and are the leading local charity for older people and their carers.
We work to improve the quality of life for older adults in Waltham Forest by providing services, campaigning for the rights of older adults and working with other organisations that share our goals.
We are a registered charity and a member of the national Age Concern Federation.

| Cyclone Nargis appeal - Help the Aged has been a long term member of The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). DEC has launched a national appeal for the victims of the Myanmar (Burma) cyclone and, as a member agency, Help the Aged will be supporting the appeal and working with partners in the country to bring relief to affected older people and their families. Help the Aged's international partner, HelpAge International, is coordinating an emergency response team to assess the situation of the estimated 170,000 older people in Myanmar affected by Cyclone Nargis. Older people are often overlooked in emergencies and the work of HelpAge International and Help the Aged is vitally important in ensuring that older people's basic needs are met in the relief efforts. If you would like to donate to the emergency appeal, details are available on the DEC website - just follow the link at the start of this item. | |
